The NW Expo zone was drill tested from 2006 to 2008. The drilling identified a 600m by 400m area of high-level porphyry-type mineralization with encouraging values of gold, molybdenum and rhenium. Gold values with in the mineralized zone ranged from 0.1 to 0.3 gpt over distances of 100m or more. Molybdenum results were in the 0.01 to 0.016 range over similar intervals. Significant levels of rhenium are also present. Drill hole EC 08 252 had gold, molybdenum and rhenium values typical of the zone and returned 0.226gpt gold, 0.016% molybdenum and 0.497gpt rhenium.
Of higher priority is a partially tested IP anomaly lying to the northeast of the gold – molybdenum mineralization. The IP chargeability anomaly is over a kilometre in length and open to the north. Three holes were drilled in the western part of the anomaly. Two of the holes returned encouraging results of 0.12% copper and 0.09gpt gold over 176m and 0.16% copper and 0.14gpt gold over 61m. Additional drilling of the IP anomaly is warranted.
The company intends to test the NW Expo anomaly during its 2021 drill program.
